Lawfare against Journalism
Journalism under pressure, democracy under threat.
This project examines how legal and judicial mechanisms are increasingly used to constrain, intimidate, and silence journalism. Moving beyond a narrow focus on Strategic Lawsuits Against Public Participation (SLAPPs), it conceptualises these practices as forms of Lawfare: the weaponisation of legal and administrative systems against journalism as a democratic institution.
